ByteDroid

Local USB MTP file transfer for phones and tablets. See ByteDroid details for requirements and limits.

USB setup

  1. Open ByteDroid.
  2. Connect the device with a USB data cable.
  3. Unlock the device.
  4. Tap Allow if the device asks for USB access.
  5. Set USB mode to File Transfer or MTP if the device asks what the USB connection should do.

ByteDroid auto-detects the first connected USB MTP device. The Connect button remains available for manual retry.

The local log lives at ~/Library/Logs/ByteDroid/ByteDroid.log. Use the in-app Error Log to export redacted diagnostics when support needs a debug file.
